Ear reconstruction · flap and soft-tissue repair · revision surgery
Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and the lead physician of this site's ear surgery content. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, and brings more than two decades of tertiary-hospital surgical experience to his practice.
He leads the ear surgery plan on this site: deciding when an ear can be corrected by reshaping cartilage and when it must be rebuilt with the patient's own tissue, how many stages that will take, and what the patient should honestly expect of the result. Two decades of tertiary-hospital surgery, including the correction of failed operations from elsewhere, inform every opinion he gives.

A hospital-based advantage
When a reconstruction uses the patient's own rib cartilage, when a framework needs theatre-level revision, or when a complication needs imaging and intensive care on hand, they are in the same building. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means that backstop is real, not theoretical.
